In 1951, when I first came to Arizona, I saw an outer landscape that harmonized with my inner landscape. The outer landscape of the Southwest with its seemingly endless spaces, fantastic geological formations and intense colors fueled my need for expression - through painting - a passionate inner life. Painting is the structure that I choose to enable this emotional expression to merge with the exploration of ideas.
